3 simple rules for business writing

In order to communicate effectively in a business environment, clarity is required. This is one of the most desirable qualities for business writing. Some basic tenets that one should follow are:

(1) Be brief.
(2) Revise.
(3) Rewrite.

I know this seems overly simplistic but remember one's purpose is to communicate a clear, decisive message and not to prove one's eloquence and mastery of language.
